  • When Was The Greatest Duck Hunt You Had And Why: A friend of mine is a farmer about 6 miles north of Jackson, right on the edge of the delta. One morning him and I went hunting and took his sons and three of their friends. So there was a total of seven of us. We went to this little teal hole and we could kill four drake mallards a piece. So we could kill 28 total. But someone messed up and we killed a hen, so we killed 27 green heads and 1 hen. We finished out everyone’s limit with pin tails and grey ducks. I have never seen anything like it. And I probably won’t again. It was an amazing hunt.
  • If You Could Duck Hunt Anywhere With Zero Consequences, Where Would You Go and The Three People You Would Take With You: I would go to Alberta, Canada or somewhere up there. I would have liked to have taken my friend I hunted with who passed, James Boone. I would also take my friend in Slidell that I hunt with now who is my age, L.J. Strain. And lastly I would take my farmer friend Bill Wie.
  • Your Duck Commandment To Newbies: Shoot the sprigs on their fist pass. As a youngster, when I first started hunting the pintails, they would come around and I would say “They’re gonna come in this next time”. And the next pass they would around but they would be a little wider and then I would say “They’re gonna come. I’m gonna shoot this time, they are gonna come right in.” But they would come around a little wider and finally they would be gone. So shoot the springs on their first pass!
