Christmas time is here! Kids are out of school, days will become filled with last minute shopping and the living room will transform into present wrapping headquarters. This time of year most people like to take it easy and spend time with family. Each year I see families make new memories and look back on the ones made in years past. Some are made in homes, some are made traveling, and yes some are made while hunting.
This time of year provides a lot of people the opportunity to hunt with family members they may not get to see but once a year. It creates a bond that can quickly become the highlight of the year for many people however there is something much more important that I hope as hunters and most of all Christians never forget. There is a reason we celebrate this time of year and it has nothing to do with presents or even hunting. It is the day in which we remember the birth of our savior and how that moment changed all of humanity. So, whether you are in the car traveling, sitting a big table of food or even settling into a blind with family and friends, I urge you to take the time to remember the real reason for season.
