I am disappointed!
Sounds like that boat is covering some ground.
No they did not. I am on as mate and the Pilot does the steering. I do steer some for the experance or to relieve him to smoke a butt or the likes but when it comes to a know tricky spot it is his responsibility to get us through it as he has the "local" knowledge and experance to get us through it. We did bump bottom a few times upbound between Cario and St. Louis.B.M.F wrote:I read in the C-L they had three seperate groundings on the big river this morning. One at helena, one at victoria bend, i cant recall the other. Need some rain bad. Did they let you cap'n the boat thru victoria bend? Its pretty tricky in high water, im guessing thats multiplied with it being this low. . . For those that have never seen victoria bend, it's damn near 90 degrees. . . to make it, they gotta throw the engines in full reverse to swing the barges around when they hit the bend.
