Level 1 Turkey Hunter

Would someone please tell me when it became cool to bait turkeys and then sit over the scattered milo and wait on a gobbler to walk up instead of actually hunting that bird and earning the reward of throwing him over your shoulder? I mean good gosh people, I understand that in the off season it is perfectly legal to put out some food and use trail cameras to get an inventory of what is walking around tiurkfood2 your property, but if you cannot find the respect and decency inside yourself to stop putting the bait out during season then you are NOT a hunter. I promise that I really try to show some patience in situations like this but I have found the end of my rope on this one. I wholeheartedly disagreed when the state of Mississippi made deer hunting with corn in direct site legal and I wish it would have never happened. You can make every excuse you want as to why its “ok” and try and make sense of doing it because “everyone else is.” Truth is that what happens on your land is your business and I am not trying to get in your business. I just wish that this next generation of hunters would be taught to actually hunt and not just have to worry about whether or not their feed is getting wet in the next rain storm.

What ever happened to woodsman ship and respect? What happened to actually using patience as a tool to harvest an animal instead of a spin feeder and scratch grains? Sorry for the sudden rant but I am not sorry for my opinion on the matter. It’s just the way I feel and whatever way you choose is your decision to live with.
