March 15 fishing report:

Blake Hall had a great weekend on Pickwick catching smallmouth. The Tennessee river is still little ways out from bass spawn but Blake did see some spawning activity for spotted bass and largemouth on Smith lake.  Was expecting a big wave on the full moon but the front kept that from happening. Should be really good fishing there the next few weeks. Major spawn is still a few weeks away on the TN river. Still a strong pre-spawn pattern. They key rig has been a shaky head and worm. You can reach Blake at 256-566-3380 or on Facebook at Blake Hall Fishing.

Bart Haddad Venice, La– Good catches inshore on reds – still a bit early for specks. Good catches tuna and wahoo offshore over the weekend but the weather has slowed things down a bit so far this week. Contact Bart at 601-466-0152.

Grenada Lake–  The key to limits of crappie continues to be trolling with road runners. Most fish have been found suspended in mid depth in 10-15 feet of water. Some females have been caught in shallow spawning water and cover but nothing in great numbers yet.

Ross Barnett– It is starting to really heat up. Before the cold from a lot of fish especially males were being caught in 3 feet of water or less. The females are close by in slightly deeper water however they were suspended only about 2-3 feet deep. As the weather warms this weekend and into next week the spawn should hit any day. Key in on areas with pads and cattails, they have been holding the bulk of the crappie.

Justin Fayard at Mexican Gulf Charters has been steadily catching tuna after the wind and weather finally broke the last few days. He expects to see some great swordfish action as well as continued success on the tuna through the weekend. Contact Justin for the trip of a lifetime at 228-342-5807.

Texas Run N GUN has been red hot with monster speckled trout. The wind was rough but it didn’t keep the Texas boys from filling limits of high quality specks over the weekend and into the early part of this week. I’m serious when I say that if you want a fishing trip of a lifetime look them up! Between the bull reds and monster trout you will not have a dull moment. For more info contact Daniel at 979-240-5312.

Half Hitch Destin, Florida– Fishing in the bay has and around the jetties has been great recently. Sheepshead, Redfish and trout have all been caught in great quantity. Check out the full detailed list of everything being caught on Facebook at Half Hitch Destin!
