There are dates on the calendar each year that each and every one of us has a special connection to. Birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and a whole array of special dates take their special place. For outdoorsmen, the first day of fall is a major turning point in our internal clock. Dove and teal season have already opened, and there have been opportunities to get out and hunt, but now that fall has officially shown its face we can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There is no more wishing the hot summer days away. No more waiting on your favorite catalog to arrive with special fall pricing. That’s right boys and girls. The time of year we have all waited for has found its way back to us. The air carries the distinct smell of crops being harvested, and everyone’s favorite finger food can be found at a Saturday pre-game tailgate. Decoys are getting a good cleaning or they may even be strung up for the first time. Dogs are getting put back into hunting shape, and if you are lucky, the honey-do list has been whittled down to a mere sticky note on the refrigerator.

Each day of fall brings us one step closer to opening day so be sure to get your final preparations in order as quickly as possible. And, if you are looking for something truly unique to find out what is happening in our precious migratory flyways from some of the most trusted names in waterfowling across the entire nation, Ducksouth is about to release the information you are looking for. Of course, I can’t spill the beans yet, but next week the cat is coming out of the bag, and it could be the biggest news you will hear all fall!
