Crow Hunting!!! Know anything about it ??
I went "crow hunting" for the first time this past wednesday and i must say, it was quite fun.. I guess a lil something to hold me over from dove to duck season. We did have a great time but all three of us had never been before so im sure there is a lil more to it than just turning on the tape player and waiting... How much should we hide, do you shoot the first few that come in, how long do you sit around waiting before moving to a new spot, do you turn down the volume when they get close..... Any suggestions for ole BeastMaster !!!!!!!!!
Mississippi now has a season on crows from November 1 to February 28. May want to wait before going again.
I have hunted them for a couple years now. Usually in February after duck and deer season are over and before turkey season. The most important thing is good camo and hide. They can pick you off from a mile away. Four or five crow dekes and an owl deke with a crow and owl fight tape is what we use. If one spot is not productive or quits producing, move. You know the gig is up when they start perching in the trees about 100 to 150 yards out and sit there.
Before Mississippi had a season, you could hunt them if they were damaging you crops. We would get permission from our local game warden every time we went. He would always say, "If a crow isn't eating crops this minute, he is sitting somewhere thinking about it. Blast 'em."

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Benjamin Franklin.
