Flip video recorders, who knows what about em?

Wife is wanting something small for her birthday (no jokes please) next week. Are these things worth anything. Seem cheap for a camcorder.

They are pretty neat. they are about $200 for the best one. Record in high Def and also has a still camera. About the size of a cell phone. No zoom is an issue. Just keep it in your pocket. Excellent for like being in a blind and having it in your shirt pocket.

it has 8 gigs of internal storage or about 2 hours of recording time. also comes with video editing software.

my wife has a flip video that has zoom, playback sound, and i think can take pictures, too. it can be plugged directly into a usb port and downloaded without any special software. she loves hers and has even gotten one from work to use.
they have them at wal mart if you are there and want to check them out for yourself. they had them on sale around mother's day and may do it again for father's day, not sure though.

I bought a real cheap one (~$60) just to mess around with. It records 30 minutes & has zoom. Not the best picture, but I'm sure the more expensive ones are better. My only complaint is it doesn't have a stabilizer so you have to hold it real steady or your picture is shaky.
