Re: Questions on changing career?
unless I have skipped it in the string, what are you wanting to do? What industry? Also, are you open to moving? It is much easier to find the job of your dreams in a bigger city.

Why am I the best candidate?
Because my mug shot won't be on the evening news with a story about how I shot up the company.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Sad thing is there is some truth to it.
There has been a lot of talk about how to get the job, but, no talk about do you really want the job. Research the company and its senior management. Are their corporate values, and I'm not talking about the ones printed in the annual report, something that you can live with? Of course the goal is to make money, but, if they sacrifice ethics to get there do you really want to work for that company. I've seen many an instance where we just skate the line between legal and ethical. If you get employed by a company like that, I doubt you will ever be happy there.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Benjamin Franklin.
Those who can do. Those who can't get on MSDUCKS and try to convince everyone they can.

Take that advice from a guy who speaks from experience. Do like I say, not as I did.
There is some great advice on here and some of these people are the ones who will do the hiring and some are in the same boat and stream just paddling like you. BUT just remember that being an "average" joe ain't that bad in the US. In my estimation, average joes do most of the working, paying, fixing, building, living and dying in the country where we are so fortunate. For now, take a look at your health, your freedom, and what matters. Build on positive things and go from there. Good luck to you.
