'Nother Payer Request
Guys, I hope your not getting tiered of seeing this topic with my name next to it, because I sure do need your help again!
First of all, an update on Chris: He is doing very well, healing well, and no apparent complications from the surgery! Thanks!
And, I hope you guys are having luck with the birds. I haven't had a chance to go yet. It's about to make me sick.
Now to the matter at hand. My grandfather is 80 yrs old and has never been sick a day in his life until last week. He came down with a very, very severe case of pneumonia. 100%, both lungs. He has been in the hospital in Corinth since last Saturday. Started out in ICU and made a few improvements so was moved to a private room. Since then has not made much progress at all, has been on and off of machines to help him breath, and most recently has gotten a staph infection. The infection seems to be keeping his body too tied up to fight the pneumonia. Right now things could really go one way or the other, but the fact that he is making no progress is really discouraging.
I know without a doubt that God's will is perfect and won't question the outcome of this for a minute, but guys, this is one of the men who taught me to eat ice cream, to fish, to hunt, to play golf ,to work, and what it means to be a man, and I ain't ready for him to go just yet!
Ya'll know what to do!
Thank you, Matt Lilly

Matt, Im sorry to hear about your Grandfather. First of all I want to say that he did a dam good job of raising a Grandson. I will have him and your family in my prayers during his ordeal. The medical profession has made some great progress in the area of respiratory distress in the last few years and I am sure that he will respond to treatment soon. Keep faith in the fact that God will help us to deal with our day to day trials and the prayers of your friends will be with you. Your support during my wifes recent illness meant so much to me that I want to reassure you that the prayers and support of friends can make a great difference in your grandfathers case. Keep us posted. Robbie Robinson

Yesterday was a bad day for my grandfather. He is back in ICU and on a ventilator. His heartbeat was very irregular and his blood pressure was dropping yesterday. By late last night the docs had him stabilized but not really improving. They said he had a 50/50 chance. I haven't had a chance to talk to my family yet today but I assume no news is good news.
We continue to be hopeful and know that if worse comes to worse, somewhere there IS a silver lining!
As always I'm more thankful for your prayers than I can say. We have already felt them in the comfort and peace about the situation that we are receiving.
I'll conitue to keep you posted.

Update: My grandfather is still in ICU but today was a bit of a better day for him. The docs have managed to back the ventilator off to around 50% and his oxygen level is holding steady. They also decided it was time to bring him out of sedation and to administer drugs for his discomfort intstead of unconciousness. They seem to think that he has made a LITTLE improvement as compared to the last few days. They agree that, however small the improvement, MAYBE, MAYBE this is the turning point we've been looking for! Hope so!
Thanks again for the prayer support. I told my family over the weekend about you guys and my grandmother said that before I ever told her, she could feel that there was a great prayer team on our side. She said that there could be no other explanation for the rest, and peace and comfort, and composure that she has been able to maintained through this.
Thanks again.
More later.
