A different tire question..

Getting ready to replace tires on my '98 Z71. It's paid for and about to be parked execpt for hunting trips and occasional hauling duties. Been using Bridgestone Dueler AT's. Wanting to go with a mud tire now. Looking at Dueler MT's but hear alot about buckshot ect. I don't know if these even go on a Z71. Want something that works great and looks sharp. Thanks guys.

Maxxis Mudder. I believe you could a 285 under thta truck. Beautiful

Yeah I think Had Enuf is right about the 285. A buddy of mine has a 98-99 and he has a set of 305s on his but they are not buckshots so I don't know if you would have the clearance for the knobs,grips. 285s look great on them and if you wanted to save about $100 and the size is not a factor then you could go with a 275. I have a set of them well actually my second set, and I swear I have close to 60k on them. They have been with me through 2 trucks. They are a good tire also, if you are only going to be doing mudding with them and maybe occasionally coming off a turn row and hitting the high way see if where you get them from has those little granule packs to go in the tires. I am not for sure what the actual name of them are but they are little granual packs that just get thrown in you tire and when you take off the pack burst and every time you stop and start it rebalances your tires. So if you get some dirt inside you wheel and take off it doesn't make you run off in the ditch. I have had them a couple of times and they are great and also I do believe help you out with tread life. I can find out the name of those packets if you can't find them and no one else knows.

look at the goodyear mt/r. i just bought a set of those and man they look good. have not been able to try out their mudability yet.

Dueler MTs will work great and they ride good and do not make alot of noise. Also, if you want a cheaper tire that pulls good and rides good on the highway try a set of Mud Dogs. My best pal owns a tire store ane he talked me in to getting a set and they have been great.

Had 285 WC XTR and 285 Buckshots on my 95 Z71, good tires, but they do get loud after a little wear on them

BFgoodrich mt's. good tire that can go lots of miles.

You're already looking at one of the best mud (that still ride decent) tires out there. I had a set on an older Z that lasted forever and went wherever. Crank your torsion bars a few times and throw those 285's under there and you will be set.

I agree great tire but price is the trade off. :shock:

They are not cheap.

Got a set of Buckshot Maxxis Mudders 305/70/R16's on my 03 Z71. You gotta crank up the torsion bars though.
