Tobacco of choice and does it bother em?????

Postby Bigpoppa » Mon Nov 07, 2005 5:09 pm

I am a long time snuff dipper. I dip Copenhagen and I do it from the stand all the time. Do you think it bothers deer? I dont know? Ive had deer spook but never could narrow it down to snuff spit. I like a good Makers Mark cigar as well as others but would never smoke on the stand although I have heard a lot of stories from old timesr about having to put one outto shoot a big un. What is yo tobacco of choice and what effect does it have on your hunting situation????

As far as it botherin deer: ive shot does that have walked thru my spit and even was smelling my spit while bowhunting. As far as bucks, its gotta effect them unless its rut. But i honestly couldnt tell you. I know one of these trophy hunters on here could tell you if it affects bucks.

well I quit dipping today...but I used to dip TImberwolf wintergreen have been dipping Copenhagen Black for last year an half or so, sometimes Copenhagen Long Cut if can't find Black...

Far as bothering the deer...I don't know? Killed lots of deer and can honestly say that every deer I've killed since around 13 I had been or was currently spitting out my stand...every single one...so...who knows? Scared alot of deer off too???

First deer I ever killed I had to put out a Swisher Sweet wood tip to pick up the gun. But I am smarter than that now (well, opinions are out on that).

But, I dip my Grizzly longcut wintergreen on the stand all the time. I do ususally take a spit bottle cause I just dont like to spit on the ground. Seems like a waste to do all that work to cover my smell to start spitting that LOUD booty smell on the ground.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

it was an awesome time, the couple I was with and my wife and I had the best time...I love that town....it was quiet and just a restful place to be....got to do the chili cook off thing sat afternoon, that morning, we just walked around downtown went in the shops and went to the hunting store bowies, went to fat mommas sat night...I really like the place yet it was crawling with high school kids so we left and just hung out downtown...went to a few antebellum homes....I cant wait to go back...it is a hidden treasure in Mississippi!!!
Thank GOD for everything!
