In a few words, what was the greatest hunt you ever went on and why: I took my brother-in- law Keith, A big game guide, on a hunt at Christmas. He and his wife were visiting for the holidays. We went to a small hole in Charleston, Ms. We hunted in a small hole where water was being held up by a a beaver dam. There must have been 10000 ducks in a couple of acres of water. We threw out the decoys after scaring them up and we limited out in less than three minutes. There were so many and they were so close they were splashing water on us as they came back. Keith is now convinced duck hunting is the easiest sport.
If you could hunt one place with no consequences, where would it be and what three people would you take with you: I would choose Claypool Reservoir back in the day. I would take my wife, dad, and my brother-in-law James.
If you could give a new duck hunter one commandment or secret, what would it be: Keep your head or face down and wait till the ducks are in range.
