I got this off of a C.M.T. thread. Mostly everyone
on there is really telling Maines what a idiot thing
she did by saying what she said.Now they are
coming on as "apologetic" and "very patriotic
Americans just concerned about our Great country"

Trent Lott let his mouth over-ride his ass and made apoligies to no avail, do you expect me to accept a chicks apoligy....??? { i guess not}
every-one will make a slip of the tounge, but it is a little late for sympothy.... i guess they will apoligize over the black net-work and will work for them......
they are due for an appearance in Memphis next week and all the local radio stations are asking for the fans to boy-cott them....
get em where it hurts....... in the wallet......

That's the beautiful thing about living in the good ol' U S of A. You're free to say whatever you please without being arrested. However, everyone else also has the right to tell you what an idiot you just made of your self without getting arrested.
So the Chicks learned a lesson (or maybe not)...that there are consequences to shooting your mouth off when the people you offend pay your bills (or used to) with concert and CD sales.
Goes to show you that true colors come out when someone finally stashed enough money in the bank to roll a gutter ball and not care.
Disrespecting President Bush was a stupid move on her part.

I typically stay out of all the posts about Politics and Religion. Mainly because no one is ever right, and arguing (sp) just for the hell of it has never really appealled to me. But here lately I have noticed a pretty solid streak of people speaking out against the U.S. and/or its actions. The little chic who turned her back on the flag during the Star Spangled Banner because she coould, and "by recognizing the flag you are recognizing all of the people (foriegners) who died while this country gained it independence" that is what she said. And now Natatlie Maines says that she is embarressed the be from the same state as "W." I would be proud for him to say he was from MS. Everyone is right, yes we do have free speech, and yes, you can say whatever you want and not face government retaliation, but do these people know how they got all of these fredoms that they are exercising? Because we (our parents, grandparents, great-grandparentes, great-great-grandparents, or who-ever) went to war and fought for them. And that is what the brave souls are going to do in the middle east today. Thank God for these people.
Today, just the same as any, I will Gladly stand up and say I am proud to be an American!!

Probably for the same reason that a liquor store owner in Ridgeland recently gave away his entire inventory of French wine rather than selling it. Patriotism comes in many forms.
