What the hell is this monstrosity...
I know it's not the best pic, snapped it on the way out the door this morning. Previous owners let it go an I need to know how to trim it

I think its suppose to look that way.

One of my neighbors has one and I think it looks bad when the leaves are on it, but once it sheds it looks pretty cool. I dont know the name of it though, and I think it also has flowers on it during spring.

Best way to trim that is to hook a chain to it and pull it up by the roots and plant something pretty in there. At least that's what I'd do.

Hell I already gotta do that to a Palm, cactus, and some Crape Murtlyes... I ain't gonna have anything left. I think these can look "ok" if properly maintained.
I Googled ugly trees to plant in your landscape and google images didn't come back with it..

Friggin closing got pushed back to next Tues. The original owners had a lien by the Subdivision which they had to pay...
Short Sale = Deal but at higher alcohol cost due to stress accumulated.

To answer your question about regeneration...I have a huge one in my front yard..we cut it off a foot above the ground three years ago and it looks the same today as it did then...It look like a huge tumbleweed with leaves when we cut it. 10 or 11 ft tall
