Camlock - You are exactly right. I have a friend that graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in parks and recreation and he now makes $65-$70k a year and has state retirement. Due to working while in college he now has like 23 years in and can retire before he is 50 and draw about $50k a year. Not a bad deal at all.

(Question for Camlock and/or PoMonk)
With reference to Masoli's appeal and talks of injunction, at what point do you think that Ole Miss overplays its hand? How many times can you poke the NCAA before they seek retribution? I am firmly convinced that if they want to the NCAA can find infractions, perhaps major infractions, at any school in the nation and certainly in the SEC. Is the play of Masoli worth raising the ire of the NCAA? Moreover, at what point do you damage your relationship with Stanley (and even Mackey) to the extent that they no longer have a desire to suceed for you? If I am Nat Stanley's parents, I am probably pretty bend out of shape about this whole ordeal given what I am sure was promised on the recruiting trail.
I am not trying to flame, I just wonder if you guys see a tipping point in here in which Ole Miss should just back down and live to fight another day.

Deltamud - you didnt ask me but I have thought the same thing about the NCAA.
The thing about Stanley is he is a competitior. I think he understands the situation and supports it. Now Cotton was not a competitor and he chose to leave. To me those kids are the ones you dont want in your program anyway (kinda reminds me of Snead and we all know he had head problems) Bringing in Masoli to me is no different than a kid being a redshirt freshman or soph and a program brings in a big time QB recruit. Most of these kids know that have to compete each year in order to keep their job. Just my opinion.
If Russell is the starter and plays all the snaps this year should Relf transfer from State? Should Russell and Relf both left had State been able to sign Cam Newton?

Couple of responses...first, based on all reports (which you know that the truth is always iffy with reporting) but Stanley and Mackey, along with all the other leaders on the Ole Miss football team are 100% behind Masoli. He was voted as 6th captain by his teammates after just being on the team 3 weeks. I think it speaks volumes of him and the prowess as a leader, so I don't think all of this is negative on current players. They have to be mature enough at this point to realize this is a business, and making Ole Miss better is always top priority for Ole Miss coaches. Understanding what Masoli brings to the table should not be offensive to anyone, and I dont' think it is to our current players. He makes the team better, and regardless how it seems as a fan of college football, these kids MUST understand the team aspect or they wouldn't be getting the education for free...don't underestimate that reality.
Far as the NCAA, I just don't know? I mean the NCAA has been pretty much publically unfriendly to Ole Miss. I think Ole Miss assisting in the pursuit of legal suit agains them is risky, but after the Powe rulings and this situation, I don't know. I perosnally think Ole miss should consider the negative reaction this ruling has gotten across the country and let the NCAA defame themselves, if Ole Miss follows proper procedure in appeals and it's overturned, they shouldn't be looked at negatively and if they are that would be just further negative action on the NCAA part. They're poor operations are becoming intolerable to more and more people. I don't know, maybe Ole Miss takes the stance of being the "Rebel" pardon the pun, that stands up to them and calls them out. However, I woulda seen that more viable with Jerrell Powe than Masoli, being Masoli can only really be a part of Ole Miss for two years academically and one year athletically no matter what...also Powe is a native of the state of MS.

figured i'd give my 2 cents for chits and giggles...
Stanley went to Nutt and said that we should look at getting this guy. He pursued the coaching staff which says a lot. He's a competitor and he's open for the competition. at what point is "too much", i couldn't begin to tell you.

If Stanley is so good as some say now? Why before Masoli came was he battling Cotton for the starting QB position and Cotton cant do any better than 4 string at South Alabama?
