tried some Boulevard Brewing Company Beer from a small brewer in Kansas City while I was in Missouri last month and absolutely loved it. I bought all I could haul back home. I looked liked Burt Reynolds, east bound and down on the way back...... needless to say it is all gone now.... i need to make another run i guess.

had several trappists monks ales this year............reknown for beer making, i can tell you, those monks can flat out brew.

Gator do you remember which ones you had. Buddy had about a case of different trappist ales the other day. Several were around 10 percent or so. Really good stuff.

Gator i have toured the Alaskan Brewery. Cool buncha folks running that place. Ive been drinking a lot of New Belgium 1554 lately. Its mighty tasty.

1554 is good stuff...get ahold of some 2 below and abby ale - both from new belgium...
In breckenridge skiing and I am in beer heaven. Will give reviews when I get back but know this - breck brewery's 471 smallbatch - IPA is possibly best beer I've ever had...at 9.2 it's close to falling outside of IPA standard if memory serves

Not to rub it in but I just got done skiing a few double blacks (imperial bowl at breck for you powderheads) and now I'm drinking a stone IPA - rocks!

Last night I had a firewater IPA outta hawaii - good stuff.

sam adam's pale ale as part of their brewmaster's collection, is now getting to mississippi. not sure if this is a new brew or just new to this area.....pretty good A.P.A

this may have been said before on another post, but Lazy Magnolia Indian Summer is now being bottled....had it at mellow mushroom in town, and thought it was a great late spring type ale.

Natty lite, beast in a blue jacket, schmits, or shaffer lite. Pretty much any cheap beer. One reason being is I don't have to worry about people stealing beer out of my cooler when it's loaded with this stuff.

Fat Tire is the best beer made, hands down. I make trips to West Memphis all the time (when I'm home) just to get it.

THIS is a very cool thread. everytime someone post, i go back and read most of this one again.

it hasn't been said, but shipyard I.P.A out of maine is very good. one of the better examples we have in mississippi of the style, IMHO.

personally, i have an american I.P.A fermenting right now (thank you mr. blowoff tube ). i know ABV is a big thing for most of us b/c of mississippi's laws and this one will weigh in at 6.1%. i have the ingredients for a lighter pale ale coming as well, which i hope to brew this weekend that will weigh in around the 4.7% mark. this one will be lighter and crisper than the first.

after that, i'm formulating a recipe for a Christmas Old Ale that'll be like eating a Christmas cookie - spiced w/ some cinnamon, nutmeg, and have a chocolate malt backbone. if i cook it according to my recipe it'll fall 100% w/in the style guidelines............and, it'll knock you on your booty at around 10% ABV. gonna let it age until Thanksgiving, then it'll make the rounds at the LLDC.

fell in love with I.P.A. a few years ago in Park City and now have made a tradition of getting a few 6 packs of different brands when out there skiing and have them for 'breakfast beer' before we hit the slopes - great way to start the day on vacation!!

also love the southern pecan and indian summer, haven't had enough southern gold yet to have a definite opinion on it. if available, i usually stick with a lazy magnolia brew, if not i'll go with sierra navada wheat or pale ale as a second choice.
