I'm 39 & Dad started taking me when I was
about 12 so roughly 27 years. I'm so grateful that I grew up with a father who
shared his love for the outdoors & the creatures that God provides. I hope that
I've been a good student and only wish that
he was still here to share it with. Thankfully, I've got some great memories, that will stay with me as long as my mind is

8 years. The first time I went i never fired a shot. The ducks just took my breath away when they cupped up coming in. My partners still tease me about that. Andy

25 total years -----hard core obsessed the last 13 years ----had a few lulls during the college years--chasing something else then--then went and got married, about 13 years ago---hmmmmmm, I wonder if there is any correlation??

This is my first serious season. Have killed a few ducks, mostly woodies. I too am lucky enough to have a dad that duck hunts.
When I was a kid he used to let me go with my single barrel .410. I dropped several singles dad and I were both shooting (LOL).
Thats what he always said anyway. My specialty was the up close cripples:-)
I have never heard him say it. But I think my dad is a great duck caller. He has a musical ear, which I think helps. Duck calling is not necessarily a genetic trait.
As a friend said so diplomatically " It may sound like a duck to a duck, there is no way to know." So I asked "how does it sound to you? Honestly?" He replied "not worth a crap!" That day I started to blow the duck call only by myself in the truck.

30 years this season. Grew up in and have always hunted around Crowder, MS. Where does the time go? I've seen ducks do some weird things and been in on some hunts that most would consider lies. I still have plenty to learn. I have to say that I have never seen a year like this one though....maybe next year will be better.

25 years. My first hunt was in December of 1977 when I was 9. Shot my first pair of greenwings in the spread (one shot) on the water with my 20ga. 870 wingmaster. Next one was a greenhead. I slacked off in the mid to late 80's because of the decline in numbers and jumped back in full force in about 1990.
Still don't know s..t but I think that I know everything.
