Dangit man. I knew that was too much difference to be accurate, but we can always hope.

God Bless everyone in the path.

For anybody hearing on the radio or tv that the vicksburg crest has been reduced to 56.2, ITS WRONG.

The crest is still 57.5.

People will believe anything in this kind of situation. Had one of my farmers today tell me that he heard that "a casino boat had broken loose in Greenville and was floating all the way down the river toward Lake Providence!"

They're probably mis-reporting the fact that the backwater levee will start being over topped at 56.2 or 56.3 (depending on who you ask) which will occur days before the crest.

People TOTALLY misunderstand a crest. They think after it crests, we're 100% safe.

There was a house trailer floating down the river today under the greenville bridge. Still had the window units in it.

Wish you had taken a pic of that!

Is water getting into the camp houses of the high dollar camps yet (Catfish, Merigold, Concordia, Donelson Point, Miller Point, Burkes, Ward Lake, Etc.)?

Has anyone heard anything about a sand boil or seepage in between Gunnison and Round Lake in Bolivar County? I just heard someone talking about this but they probably don't know what they are talking about.

BUCKWHEAT wrote:There are sand boils in the levee at my place which is neer the Tunica River park. It has already flooded about 70 acres crop land on the protected side of the levee. Levee board is workin now on putting an estimate 1600 truck loads of earth to shore up the leaks. I have pictures, but don't know how to post. I'd be happy to e-mail to someone if there is any interest.
Buckwheat,

Please post up pictures if you can figure out how to do so. If not, then please PM me, and I will give you an email address. Our place butts up to the levee south of Tunica, and the water was crazy high when I was down there last week. I think we had lots of run-off to thank for much of the water, but I bet we will be getting more and more water from seepage underneath the levee.

Thanks,

brake man

Saw pictures of Burkes last night. It looks like it has gotten one cabin and up to the porch on some others, but there are a few that look ok. Didn't get to see all the cabins, just a few, maybe 5...

Heard a report from Merigold that a co-member's wake overturned a full pontoon boat. I might have been a little upset had that been my pontoon boat.

Damn! I bet that came from Ozark Island. I'd be surpirsed if they have much of a camp left
