Can we panic yet?
I know you can't comment, but if we can get a few thousand Canadians to go the way of Katrina and move to Houston/Dallas/Mobile/B'ham/Atlanta, then yes, we can and should panic. Don't know if it would do any long-term good, but it would be a hell of a start.

All the rumors we have had the last two weeks has had folks all crazy. Every time I was in another town I would get all kind of wild crap about what was going on back in my town. Luckily crest was 1.5' short and we seemed to have turned the corner. Hoping for the best down stream fellas, its a heck of deal to have to wait and see what could happen. Brings everything into perspective on how much we really don't control.

Had no idea the pressure/flow of the water would be this great. This is a picture of the water flowing across the Satartia/Holly Bluff road (facing east) this weekend: Image

If the levee breaks, was told water will come through the levee at a rate of 7 acre-feet per second.

I drove through there Saturday around 2:00pm. It wasn't over nearly that much. That is the curve right after Lake George Rd at Clear Lake Rd. Doc Caston's old place if anyone knows him. It was coming almost up to the doors on my Jeep Wrangler. Some guys that were bowfishing there said it had taken probably 20 to 30 more yards of road in the 2-3 hours they had been there. Needless to say I didn't go back home that way but did loop back on #3 and drove down to look at it from the other side. It was steadily taking more road.

There are sand boils in the levee at my place which is neer the Tunica River park. It has already flooded about 70 acres crop land on the protected side of the levee. Levee board is workin now on putting an estimate 1600 truck loads of earth to shore up the leaks. I have pictures, but don't know how to post. I'd be happy to e-mail to someone if there is any interest.
