I have never meet JT. But he knows what he talking about. Read his posts and listen. JT , I shot a Rezen@ 68 pds 29 in draw 3-71 acc with a trick. I can shoot anything in north America with my setup.

Thanks for the Vote Skull Man......I probably know just enough to be dangerous! I know that my setup works good for me and I like the sound of your setup. I shot ACC's for a long time and really liked them....still do. They have good straightness and weight to them. I also like the full metal jackets for the diameter and weight that they carry. If I got away from the aluminums I would probably shoot them or ACC's. I might have to try those slick trick's one day. I have heard a lot of good things about them. Jt

Just a suggestion if you're wanting to switch to something mechanical. I shoot the G5 Tekan and I love it. Never lost a deer with it and it leaves a great blood trail. They have a 1 1/2 inch cutting diameter (same as 3-blade rage). But the part that I love about them is the fact that if they do not deploy, the blades are always exposed so they are still going to cut and penetrate, however, they have always deployed for me. Just a suggestion. They are very strong broadheads and very sharp.

I shoot Rage 2 blades and have nerer lost a deer with em. With that being said, there isnt a replaceable blade broadhead on the market that I trust to go thru the shoulder or any heavy bone and bet on weather the blades are gonna be straight. Blades are way too cheap to worry about that. Ill agree that the montecs are tough as heck, but anything that can be replaced needs to be replaced. Muzzys are great heads, but somebody said "They fly like field points and are east to tune". I aint never tuned a field point or had a Muzzy fly right out of the pack. Maby with a mid speed bow and heavy aluminum arrows but not with todays super fast bows and carbons.

I shoot muzzies out of a bow with a whisker biscuit moving a cool 330 fps

... impact right with my field tips.... will blow smooth through a shoulder and the tree behind it

... blades might be bent but can buy a whole pack of braodhead replacements blades for the price of 1/2 a RAGE...

I bet they didnt fly like that outa the pack.....hence the "easy to tune". I have shot deer through the shoulder wIth the Rage and have never damaged anything but the blades. Just like your beloved muzzies. There just isnt any point in shooting a deer in the shoulder with an arrow. Its just not a high percentage shot. Shoot en in the ribs man, and do it with a rage, Muzzies are so 1980's Roger Ragglin!!! Get with it Dude.

Rage's are probably great if you are a good enough shot to hit 'em in the "cage" every time, but some of us are not that good and every now and then might get into the shoulder. Not a big aregument here other than I say mine is better and you say yours is better. They are both good, but I think one has stood the test of time. Let's talk in 20 years about the Rage's

I shot thunderheads for nearly 20 years before changing to rage, and being in the tracking buisness, I can honestly say that more poorly shot deer have been recovered with a rage than any other head ive ever seen. Fron the hams to the shoulder hes gonna die. The proofs in the puddin. I really dont think some of the cost arguments are alid when were talking about cleanly harvesting a live animal. Bigger hole=more blood loss=faster cleaner kills.

you ever thought your finding more deer shot with the rage than any other head because you have more people buying into the hype of.... flies just like your field points, and don't take the time to tune their bows??? if they are the best of the best you wouldn't be trackin them... a properly tuned bow will shoot any broadhead on the market.... THAT IS A FACT...
I,ll stick with my muzzies that won't come open in my quiver, or in flight, won't be unusable after one shot through a deer, won't tear up being shot into a block target and don't cost 40 bucks for 3....
If it can go wrong it will.... same reason I shoot a whisker biscuit...
keep riding that rage train... it will derail on you sooner or later

I would have shot a whiskey basket this year if I wouldn't have had to buy new arrows. There is a little bit of noise issue with them if you are not shooting a "polished" type of arrow. Probably not enough to matter, but it just messes with my head. The older I get the more that I appreciate simplicity.

Not to mention that they are 43.00 a pack + tax, that is 14.33 cents a shot. once you stick it in a deer or in the ground its toast. you guys that buy rage heads are probably buying those $1000 bows every year too.
