I did not have tickets. I was messing around as wounded said it was NOT a bright thing to spend $180 a couple on VIN tickets! :P

You must not like your kids very much- the IRS will suck that money + penalties + interest out of your estate so fast... all your kids will be left with are the family photos.

Making a payment and a half every month should cut down my total "paid to the bank"

Have you ever put that in a mortgage calculator? It is amazing what 1.5 payment will do to the years. It cuts a 30 yr. to like a 19yr.

If you want to see a real shocker, just add a little bit to the principle every month and see how much you can save. I told a friend of mine about that, and he compared the 'savings' to what that same money could buy in today's dollars. (paying an additional $5 - $10 each month early in the mortgage, for example, would save enough to buy a nice car when the mortgage is paid off, simply by continuing to pay the same amount each month as if he still had the P&I to pay.)
