Note to Bama: The citizens of MS own the land the ducks migrate to, seems they should have a better shot at them than anyone else!!! Kinda like why a LA fishing lic. cost me $110 rather than $15...I guess the fish dont migrate across the state lines..lmfao DA...hehehe

OFF IN THE DISTANCE, the faint sound of "another one bites the dust" can be heard.
pretty sure it's blaring outta Polles vehicle.

Back to Kingfisher: There are also citizens of Alabama that own land in your state, and have for over 25 years. I understand your frustration concerning OOSers taking up public spots and agree maybe they should pay more for public access to duck hunting but I definately don't think it is fair to continually go up on non-resident license fees for people that are not citizens but own property and pay taxes on that property in MS.

NO, not really.....it was sad 3 or 4 yrs ago. it was sad back then when myself and others where upset w/ it and had other "hunters" who either picked it up the year before and hadn't figured it out yet BUT they bygod had an opinion on it OR those that had been duck hunting since jesus christ was a cowboy were pissed that it was getting harder and their sorry asses were getting older, telling us to shut up - oh, and there's still a heaping helping of both of those types of folks around here.
it was sad then...........but, in reality, it was/is just part of the program with this piece of schit department we have to deal w/.
in 10 yrs, public hunting in this pisshole will be a distant memory, and so will my support in buying licenses or anything else that benefits this state and it's "conservationist"........and, we can thank the morons in office RIGHT NOW for it.
oh, and let me head this one off at the pass b/c i know they'll be someone who has something real smart and intelligent to say - yes, i know, in reality this is my fault b/c i wasn't at some meeting voicing an opinion that would fall on the ears of the deaf, dumb, and retarded.
start at the top w/ your thanks.

Bama: This is why I said like IA, if you own land there you can still get a yearly lic. Im just looking at ways to help alleviate the sheer numbers of hunters without punishing the MS guy that lives down the road. I can tell you right now if the laws for boating safety were inforced that would have been a good first step!!! If we operated boats down here on the Jordan like you see being done on those youtube videos the BMR would have a field day!!! I have seen it on a holiday weekend during the summer, lots of folks being pulled over and boating laws being enforced. Pretty much gets rid of the idiots quick!!

something has to change to 'fix' the problem/danger of boat races..i bet i havent hunted the place 2 times since the entrance rule was put in place..but i do have friends/family that have hunted it and told me the stories of being swamped with water by a racing boat, etc..
but what do you do? if you take the entrance rule away, people fuss that it is unfair because they dont want to get up early to go hunt..apparently this was an argument or they woulda never made the entrance rule..i still have my doubts why the entrance rule was ever put in place..it is just plain dangerous..
i can seriously see all these waterfowl draws taking a toll on the future of waterfowl hunting in MS..yeh, maybe if i was just getting into duck hunting and i got to go on a good draw hunt, i would be hooked..but after 2-3 years of not getting drawn, or getting drawn for a sub-par place, i would probably give it up simply because i had nowhere to go
maybe my view is biased because i never heard the complaints/views of the people that wanted an entrance time put into place..in my opinion, that is where all the problems begin
if it goes to a draw, maybe it will just be on the weekends

Only thing is you can't set your hopes on maybe.
There are other issues they are trying to correct with this also.
1. Boat race. Resolution- HP restriction.
2. Hunters not respecting others. ?????? Put in a min distance. Its not perfect but I've got no other resolution.
3. Quality. They think if you limit people the ones in WILL have a quality hunt. I disagree some will and for some it want matter if they had the thing to themselves, thy still would not. These are probably also the complainers.
There is nowhere on that property that you can get to at no wake speed in 20 min. But they act they act as if these rules aren't enforceable. I am for no Restrictions but at this point anything beats the alternative.

The MDWFP has had complaints concerning safty of hunters, overcrowding, unethical hunting, ect.
Now is the time to write a letter to MDWFP, attn: Larry Castle, 1505 Eastover Dr., Jackson, Ms. 39211. Your letter should contain your suggestions to remedy any of the complaints or preceived complaints. The Draw is not a done deal. Rants and vents will not help the cause. Viable suggestions may help. As others have suggested bending a commissioner's ear couldn't hurt. e mails will be accepted, but I was told a letter is the best avenue.
Just talked with a very P O'd person with MDWFP, he is extremly hacked that Polles is ramming this down the MS sportsmans throat for his own agenda, he also said that letters to the Wildlife commisioners are the only way to stop Polles Agenda, same address as above, but need to be directed to Wildlife commissioners. he also said that there didn't have to be an alternate method other than to leave it be, or that we are just against it!!
we need to all send letters this week to stop the madness
