A an old cranky 870 and a tightwad with nitro number 6's seems to make him flop a little less. If I'm going in the swamp thicket I'll put a modified in.
I've seen a many a wild turkey gobbler maimed and wounded because of a hunters false sense of security relating to the effective range of his gun. When in reality the gun may shoot 60+ yards, but he can't. Of course these are fools. I know nobody on this board is like that. On this board we have dignity, standards and bylaws.
If you shoot at him at +40 yards you didnt call him in; you called him close but not in. 50+ is insanity, immoral and a sure sign of a novice taking a desperation shot.
The third paragraph does not apply, however, if the season is in the last 2 week stretch and you have yet to kill a bird. Also, paragraph 3 does not apply to me.
Because if "You "illegitimate child" Son of a Bitch" gets anywhere within eyesight this year I'm loping em in on him. I'm gone make it rain. Somebody is gone eat him this spring, me or the maggots.

Obviously you have never hunted a Carmack, Ms bird. Those got to be the most pressured birds in the state. You take what you can get.

Has anyone tuned a new Browning Maxus yet? I've got my trusty Mossberg, but want to have my Maxus as a backup.

Vickers, not too bad as far as the pop goes i guess. I know some people have seen a few groups of birds and I myself have seen a couple good sized groups of anywhere between 15-25 birds. Havent seen any gobblers. Im sure we are gonna be in trouble though. I talked to someone at a club across the river from me and they said they had a ton of gobblers.
You know anyone who has sent a gun to Rhino for the full deal customizing?

My dad just got one...didn't count numbers but will definitely get the job done at 40 yards with a PG 660 and Hevi #7s. I'll try to sit down and count them sometime.

Old beat up 870 3 inch that Richey's Gun shop made into a turkey gun. He took a 20 inch smooth bore slug barrel, put fiber optic rifle sights, lengthened the forcing cone, and put one of his chokes in. Patterns a softball at 30 yards.
