And of course DD had to out do Ole Pops...
They got bigmouths and coppernose bream.
Two iguanas, green in da tree, they say they taste like frog and there's no limit.

Re: Exotics....
That exact experience is on my bucket list. Those clown knifefish can eat prey almost as large as themselves!
I may be in contact to find out the where, when, and how of doing that trip.

Never assume.
Re: Exotics....
We worked out a reduced trip deal for me to flyfish and short 3 mile out to the lighthouse tower. DD lost a nice grouper went in a hole and a huge wahoo at da boat. We got some nice Almaco and Beeliners off a wreck to eat.
We left Islmarada 12:30am Wed to beat the traffic. The charter guys were getting ready to motor their boat 10 hours up to Ft Lauderdale to shelter. Their houses are on the water ...very worried! Thoughts and prayers for the Keys locals....

Re: Exotics....
I follow a guy in instagram, Monster Mike that fishes all those canals, ditches, anything he can for exotics. Pretty cool to watch. He actually catches them out of storm drains sometimes.

Re: Exotics....
DD and I drove down from M'sipi to nephews wedding and turned it into great adventure! Ain't got pics back yet of the snorkel trip at Key Largo. Sad to see most all the stag horn coral was dead. Was down there couple of times 40 years ago. Wedding was at Ole Spanish Monastery built in 1100 in Spain and moved to Fla by Randolph Hurst and rebuilt one brick at a time.... truly amazing!

Re: Exotics....
Awesome post Denduke, thanks for sharing
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.
Re: Exotics....
The charter boat guys had a place to tie boats in mangrove channels and saved the boat. Robbie's lost
most of their piers but pilling still there. Hopefully back to feeding the tarpon eventually....Charter business gonna be real tough for awhile....
Pics from Pennecamp Coral Park snorkel deal
All the staghorn/elkhorn coral I saw 40 yrs ago is dead/ broken on the bottom. They are trying to get it reastablished ....
You dads note great for even the young knotheads to enjoy swimming there. The locals gonna need your future business .....

Re: Exotics....
Your pics bring back some memories. Lived in Homestead a few years back in the early 80s. Although I don't remember any exotics, I can remember my dad taking me fishing in several of those canals down there. Spent a lot of time at Pennekamp state park. Thanks for sharing.
