ADS - land levelling costs
Approximately what are people charging (time/per acre) for small land levelling jobs in the south delta? We have a portion of a duck hole that is about 13 acres, there may be a 12 inch variance from high to low, and we are thinking about being able to plant rice effectively. Thanks.

The prices are based on the amount of yards/acre that have to be moved. The higher the yardage to be moved, the higher the price. I'm sure there are a couple of guys on here that can give you a decent quote, but you'll need to get the field surveyed and a cut sheet worked up before you can get a dollar amount.

The cut sheet is a necessity They will charge by yards. It will be hard to get anybody to come to a job that small because most of the dirt movers have more work than they can get to now.

Send me an email with coordinates or a map of the field. We can pull a survey remotely from LIDAR data to give you a rough idea of the yardage that needs to be moved so that cost can be determined. dan@deltawildlife.org

You can trust novacaine. Because he has a bad booty layout boat.

Why not break the 13 acres up and build levees to control the water? You can use spill over irrigation and flood from the highest part and let gravity bring the water to the lowest section.
If rice can be planted in "terraces", 12" on 13 acres seems like a walk in the park.
