Duck hunting is one of the fastest growing outdoor sports for beginning hunters. I think the reason being is it allows you to do it with your friends. It is not climbing up in a tree stand by yourself and watching a herd of deer graze in a food plot. There is action! There is laughing! There is calling! There is poking fun! Duck hunting can be one of the funnest things you do as an outdoorsman. I have people ask me all the time what do I get need for my first duck hunt?
The first thing you will need to do is buy or borrow a few things for your first hunt to see if you like it. Below find my checklist of items you will need on your first hunt:
- Shotgun
- Non-Toxic Shotgun Shells
- Camouflage Coat
- Waders
- Warm Socks
- Face mask or Face Paint
- Duck Stamps
- Hunting License
- Toilet Paper
These are just a few essentials that I can think of off the top of my head needed for your first hunt. If you like it enough, I would recommend going out and buying your own stuff. Until then, I would borrow as much as I could until I was sure I loved it.
