EMBARRASSING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not but that is actually being discussed by some on the Ole Miss message boardlipsplitter39654 wrote:BLACK BEARS oh hell no. that is racially insensitive.... no way buddy that is offensive........

If cowbells were demonized in some way due to political correctness as Col. Reb has been, there would be a revolt by the fan base and the President/Chancellor would be strung up by the balls on the north goal post at Scott Field. I can't believe the big money donors at Ole Miss are letting this happen. Hell, I'm a State fan and I'm embaressed for y'all. I guess a black bear wouldn't be a bad mascot considering the Teddy Roosevelt hunt in the lower MS Delta but a freakin Landshark and especially a Hotty Toddy character....in the world of PC today, why not dress up a flaming gay guy in leotards with a pink tutu and let him dance around on the sideline.![]()

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
This is the next step in the movement to free up room to eliminate "Rebels" and "Ole Miss" as official associations with the schoolcamlock wrote: regardless of the votes, that results are never made public...that bear is the next mascot...and we eventually get a lovable trained bear in a navy and red scarf in a state funded million dollar house on campus (ala Mike the Tiger)...
by the time my boys are in college it will be The University of Mississippi Bears with a mascot named Rebel.....
From what I'm hearing the Hotty Toddy will be the next macot. The alumni are split on the Black Bear and Landshark and the students want the Hotty Toddy.camlock wrote:as an Ole Miss guy with a vote...
here is my opinion, as I stated in the Sports Forum...

Can't agree with all this...I agree in general that Ole Miss in many or all aspects settles for mediocrity far too much and things other than being a champion reign supreme, but getting rid of Houstn Nutt after he turned a JOKE and and disaster into a winner on New Year Day bowl games two years in a row...dang near overnight...wanting him to leave b/c in year 2 after 3 win season and coaching change he coulnd't better the Cotton Bowl...that's unrealistic and has serious reprecussion...also your example of Bianco while kinda of legit is also shady...I dont' like your examples abut I get what youa re saying and I mostly agree...basically Ole Miss is a platform for lots of stuff and the winning and stuff like that is just icing on a proverbial cake. Society, politics, etc reign far supreme!!!H20fowlkiller wrote:Lets not blame the administration for this completely, now I have been a Ole Miss fan for as long as I can remember but the older I get and the more I see, Ole Miss is nothing but a 2nd tier school. Ole Miss is happy with average from the students to the Alumni, how can I make a statement you ask? When Nutt threatened to leave last year we should have let him. We were not better than the year before we went to the exact same bowl because we couldnt beat State. Had we beaten State and went to the Capitol One bowl and had a decent showing then yea we would have improved, but we didnt and as a whole the fan base was ok with that. Baseball is an even better example, you dont have the kind of pitching we have over the last 5 years and dont make it to Omaha once!?! But were fine going to a regional and playing 2 and thru. How many times can we host a Super Regional and loose before they realize Bianco isnt going to get us there. No body at that school steps up and says were not ok with this, which is why the Student body President is making "Meatless Mondays"...really come on. Greek life and the Grove is the only thing people will stand up for, but having a top 10 paid head coaches and not producing top ten teams is ok.
