I hate to hear that. He was one of my favorites on that program. I thought he would have been older than 53 though.

I feel bad for his family.....This is what happens when you live on coffee and cigs.

Exactly, its a bad deal for those kids, but who didn't see that coming? When you chain smoke cigarettes, drink coffee by the gallon, work those long long hours on a boat, eat no tellin what, and get no exercise you gotta expect to have trouble. Hope those boys learn a lesson in how not to live. Prayers sent.

I hated to hear that. I would have guessed older than 53 as well. Hard workin and hard livin caught up with him. I enjoyed him on the show.

I bet when he started as a greenhorn he never thought he would end up as a tv personality.
There will be a day....

Now he can catch up on all the sleep that he missed over the years.
Hate to hear that but you could see it coming.

I would imagine the following was the Cappy's theory on life:

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...WOW, What a Damn Ride!"

Hate to hear that too! He was tough, there was no way I could have stayed on that boat as long as he did after that blood clot incident! RIP

BTW, this is kinda off topic, are they having another season this year?
