Big Purchase-N.C.

Some gentlemen from North Carolina just purchased Fighting Bayou hunting Club. I hate to see Mississippi's finest go into out of State hands. My grandfather was one of the founding members in 1956. He sold out when his health weakened. I am sure they don't plan on driving over every morning to hunt. I bet they have alternate methods of transportation that could get them here a little quicker. I will have to say it was an offer those guys couldn't refuse. I still just wish that it has stayed in Mississippi ownership. I wonder if they will manage it any differently.

I killed my first duck on that club back in the early '80s. I hate to see it go to somebody out-of-state too. They hold some kind of birds now. If those guys manage it any differently they'll be screwin' up. Last year I hunted some rice within spittin distance of them and you could here 'em hammerin away ever morning................

Don Miller, Dee is my first cousin and I used to come down there on xmas break and hunt with him. I have some great memories of Mr. Bill, I.D. and Mr. P.L. sittin around that lodge at nights drinkin beer and tomato juice and tellin lies. I'll never forget those times as long as I live. You must be Mark..........

Here's the low down skinny guys, Fighting Bayou has NOT been sold and is not for sale. I talked to the stock holder that manages it this morning and he just laughed at the thought of selling it...If you take a trip to the U.S. mint, you will find that they are still making money, but they ain't making no more Fighting Bayous.
A guy from South Carolina bought some land last year and the year before about three miles southeast of Fighting Bayou to make his own duck club. Maybe that is what you have heard about.
This thread is dejavu all over again..Don, don't you remember having this same conversation with Timber a couple of years ago?

I'm posting this for Bubba Tollison-

Guys, I appreciate all your concern about Fighting Bayou, and as the guy who manages the place and a stockholder, Fighting Bayou has NOT been sold, and it is not for sale and there is probably not a price that could buy it. We 9 guys that own Fighting Bayou love the place dearly, and it is our intention only to improve the water fowl hunting and management, deer populations, and we plan to add turkeys to the property in the spring of 2004. Maybe I'll get to meet some of you and hunt with you one of these days. Bubba Tollison

I have also found out that the person that told me about this was wrong. I am sorry for posting something that wasn't true. I am glad it hasn't been sold. I wasn't sure any of those guys would have much need to sell. Thanks for asking around and clearing it up for those that did.
