Okay, serious advice needed folks.

Option A: give it to her for Christmas, sentimental and all but cool.

Option B: give it to her Jan. 10, which is the first time we went out about 5 years ago. Thought about taking her to Shermans, where we first went out, and popping the question there. I think this would be pretty cool, you know, first date was here, same day as first date.

Option C: stay single, live in a house of filth, eat fast food till I die at 50 of heart attack, look to dog for love on those cold January nights...........I think you get the drift.

Give it to her for Christmas.
Multiple benefits:
- you wont have to remember a separate date for "the day you gave her the ring"
- frees up a buck that you would have spent on a Christmas present (you can buy more shells and a couple of biscuits for the dog...everybody will be happy)
- yeah that's what she's expecting..so what, schmooze early avoid "what is he thinking cold shoulder" during the best days of duck season.

I would give it to her for Christmas. If you don't, things could get a little bit tense between then and the 10th.

CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC. Better yet, get a new puppy to cure that lonesomeness. If you insist though, inquire about an antenuptual agreement . . . . . unless she is rich. In which case, go with January, cause your band probably pales with what she really would like.

Try this little test. Put the ring in one hand and imagine a shiny new 4wheeler with all the accesories and a new bag of dekes on the front rack and see which makes you happiest.

IMHO

I have to go with Jan.10. An engagement should be separate and special. I did it at Christmas and I've always regretted it. If you combine it with the gifts from Christmas, something has to be lost. Both times should be memorable. The engagement should be just between you and her, special, separate, and romantic. How romantic can Christmas really be? Been there, done that, regret it. Treat her special and do it later. Or, be cheap and roll it all into one. My belief, if you love her that much, treat her special. Now, Jan. 1 is a different thing. A new year, a new direction, a new commitment, a new life...! It has potential, it's romantic. Then , in the afterglow of the engagement, take her to the first date place, and you get good marks all over again. And trust me, if your going to be married, your gonna need all the good will you can generate!

I would probably have a choice (D). Wait until after duck season, then you want have that special weekend during the season. Or choose Christmas and get it all done in one day.

you have got to be kidding me. your getting married. my advice to you is to take plan F. do not get married b/c women are evil. they are all out to get us. if we keep marrying these animals we will just be sucked into their little society of shopping, tupperware, and menstrual pains. if they didn't have you know what we would hunt them with dogs. don't get me wrong i love women but i love all of them and not just one. you ought to try that.

I THINK DO IT AT NEW YEARS EVE. SHE'S TOTALLY CAUGHT OFF GUARD. GRANTED YOU'LL HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE POUTING FROM CHRISTMAS WHEN SHE IS EXPECTING IT BUT THE FIREWORKS AT NEW YEARS EVE WILL BE WORTH IT IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. I MARRIED A HUMPHREYS COUNTY GIRL AND IT WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DID. VMAN
