ME AND MY DAD

In the last three years, my passion for duck hunting has surpassed all other hunting. I invited my dad to join me at my club in the delta Thanksgiving weekend. I tried to explain to him there's nothing like watching the ducks decoy. How exciting duck hunting is and not to mentioned the fellowship. Friday morning, we headed out to a hole the ducks have been piling into. Upon arrival to the hole I realized the water was too deep for the fourwheelers. We had to turn around. I looked back and my fathers wheeler was stalled and started to float. I jumped off my bike and watch my father hit the water.. UNDERWATER. I got to him, help him up. He was soaked.

We did not get to kill ducks together that morning, but made another great memory.

Cherrish the memories while you have them and don't forget to tell him how much you love and he means to you.

Several years ago I found my dad outside after a car had fallen on him. The whole time I was holding him all I could think of is when was the last time I told him I loved him. You know what, I couldn't remember, you see I was 18 and to manly to say stuff like that then. Boy I sure do regret it now and wont make that mistake to the rest of my loved ones.
