Are the silicon impregnated gun socks OK to store a fine firearem in? I just bought a new O/U and want to be sure the silicon won't discolor the wood if stored in the sock for a long period of time. Thanks, JB

No they are not and yes they will create a weave pattern on your wood. Socks or for short carries only and not meant for storage.
Never store a gun in a case. You gamble each time you do. The best advise I can give on gun storage is to buy a gun locker.
I have seen way too many guns come to my shop from being stored in gun cases. Even the hard cases with foam lining can destroy a finish. If it hasn't happen to you yet then your lucky.

Computer shop what else. hehehehe
I was a Gunsmith for years and retired to a office job 16 years ago. But I still have a damn good gun shop in my garage. Kept all my tools, parts, and machines.

I need to get another magazine spring retaining cap for a Beretta Extrema. If you unscrew the cap right now, the main spring flies out. (like the can of peanuts gag joke, only more violently)
Anyway, I broke the tab that secures this tab in place while taking the plug out. I wanted to see how many 2 & 3/4" shells that ugly gun would hold. Much to my surprise, I could only get 4 in the mag.
I need to buy one and if you run across one in your shop, would you please let me know?
Thanks.

Wildfowler, take that for the sign that it is. Get rid of that ninja gun and go back to a real shotgun. You do just fine with only two shots.

Har Har.
Hambone, I'm surprised you're recommending that I go back to a real gun after seeing what I did to those dove this weekend. I can't wait to come up and sit beside you in the blind and shoot all of your ducks this year.
