Anybody hunting the Ross Barnett?
Anybody hunting the Ross Barnett?
Any one hunted the Res yet? Looking for a before work spot close to mi' casa. Used to hunt north of 43 but hadn't been in a while. Anyone interested?
Res.
Good luck dealing with the stumps! I'm sure it's holding birds, but I'm pretty sure it's hard to find cover in spots the birds are using. Seems to be the biggest problem I've encountered huntin big water-the water being to low on the bank and not being able to find some as big or bigger than the boat!

There are tons of ducks at the Res, went last weekend south of 43. Coots, Teal, and lots of GREENHEADS.

Did some hunting out there last year. It is at lease good for a couple of fly by shots....

REZ
Hunted there as well. Most of the time the ducks are in deeper water or simply heading somewhere else. Hunted there purely for close to house purposes. Still saw ducks. We hunted mostly off the bank, cover there is actually pretty easy with all the cat tails. Just a big piece of water and the ducks have their pick as to where to go. Not like hunting the delta or flooded timber for sure.
Good luck!
Good luck!

All the ducks are in the North delta. Only thing on the rez is few coots. Me, that's all I'm after. Take the gizzard throw the rest away. Best stuff around. I hear the Tallahatchie River is loaded just find were the birds are going down in the words. Park your boat and walk in.

no $#!+ guys.....i hate hunting there, but i will tell you the secret that you will be scared to waste a morning on, but WILL WORK.....a few friends of mine went mid january last season for 4 straight days around new years to the 3rd or 4th of january.....i did not go, but they went out in the middle of the stumps just south of 43....you know where im talking about....and put out less than a dozen decoys each day.....pulled a green tarp over their heads and boat and limited out on MALLARDS every day for four straight days.....i saw it with my own two eyes when i went to my friends house.....he swears that is what they did.....and says the same thing the guy said in the above post....they (the ducks) were out in the middle of the rez.....well, the middle of the rez just south of 43 aint but 2 ft deep for 200 square yards.....i aint got the balls to waste my time hunting the middle of the rez....but the women got them by the balls and must stay close to home, so that is why they tried it.......go figure...they killed limits...
