Not to start a pissing contest,... but I am fighting this gumbo mud everyday and my bike just aint cutting it. What 4 wheeler yall run and what tires?

1999 Foreman 450S with 27" Bear Claws (10" wide-front/12"wide-rear). They don't grab quite as much as a vampire or an outlaw, but they do good and the bike will pull them through the gumbo in second gear with pretty high revs (if I want it to).

If you're in a lot of SHO NUFF gumbo and don't really care about ride quality or don't have to worry about tree roots on the sides of hills or climbing trees on trails in the woods, I'd go with something like the Rincon with 27" outlaws, mudzillas, or something similar.

I hunt in pure gumbo and I have a Honda 450S with 27" Mud Lites. This setup does me fine!

Maybe I'm missin something but why the big tires. I have a 450 honda and can go anywhere my buddies go with their big tires. We ride almost every weekend and hunt in the grenada lake bottom too so we go through plenty of mud. Sometimes i come out better than they do. We don't have to push mine near as much neither. I'm not sure that they help all that much, maybe just "bigger is better" state of mind?

Well, the rider has a lot to do with stuff too. I've got 27's on mine and everyone I ride with has 25s or 26s. If we're ever on a trail with ruts, or have a steep hill or sandy creekbank right out of a stream to climb, I always go last because the ruts get deeper and deeper and people start grounding out, but I just go right on up. The other main difference I've found is that I can run in mud at a slower speed and lower rpms and go the same places I did before wide open. It'll also do a lot more than stock tires when you "really want it to".

Stock tires will get you anywhere you probably NEED to go, but the bigger mudders just make it a little more fun.

You'd be messing up putting bigger tires on a Rincon. THEY DON"T HAVE ANY LOW END POWER. Stock tires will go in most any rice field. The only problem is ruts and in that event they don't make a tire big enough.

I have an 03 rincon stock with 27" mudlites and it turns them fine.I'll take

it through anything without a problem.

hillhunter, lake mud and real gumbo are two different animals. Real gumbo will choke down anything normal. Just my thought

RNail I've also been in this gumbo but it has never seemed to bother my ride. I haven't been in as much as you probably have but i still don't see the need for the tires.
