Griff update!

I got to hunt with that little turkey about 4 weeks ago. I sure was an honor and life changing experience for me.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't updated yall in a while. For the most part last year went really well. Make-A-Wish sent us to Orlando, FL to Disney World and Universal Studios. He had an absolute blast. Me and the wife might have even enjoyed it more than the kids.

He has been fighting a pretty bad cough on and off for about 3 months now (I know..Crazy right?). He pretty much stayed out of the hospital from around March of last year through Christmas, but around the first week of this month his cough got worse and he started running fever. We had to admit in the hospital again. He eventually got pneumonia and a sinus infection so we ended up staying a week in the hospital. He is back home now but we're still fighting the pneumonia and cough. The doctors are starting to think he has some sort of mild asthma or reactive airway disease. He has a follow-up appointment this Thursday and also a pulmonologist appointment Feb 7th.

All in all, he is doing really good in terms of the cancer. He is still in remission and has been since April of 2010. It's hard to believe it has been that long since he was diagnosed. We stay busy raising three kids (Griff 6, Addison 4, and Ansley 2) and treating him for leukemia all at the same time. Guess it's no wonder why the time has gone by so fast.

We also got a team together for the Second Annual Jingle Bell Jog 5k at Blair Batson hospital. Griff won the award for largest team with 90 members!! We called the team "Team Super Griff!" We had a blast! Best running event I've participated in by far, but then again I'm a little biased. All proceeds went directly to Blair Batson Children's Cancer Clinic.

Yeah bud! We had a good time. Griff was sleeping like a log in my pirogue. There was shooting all around, and it didn't bother him a bit. I wish I would have taken a picture of that. That would have been a good one. Ready to go again!

Thanks for keeping up wiith him. You might want to change the subject of the thread to "Griff Update" so everybody else who's keeping up with him will know to look. They prolly don't know "gunner" but most know Griff!
