They gave a manslaughter instruction. Kidnapping also.
I couldn't sleep and watched most of it last night. And it sounded to me like the foreperson was trying to say they were deadlocked and Gordon was going to let them go, then he decided to let them come back and try some more. what they foreperson said was that they couldn't reacha verdict, essentially, but said they were about to take another vote when the bailiff knocked, so rather than send them back in for that vote, he sent them home.
And I'd be careful about saying what Gordon will or will not do, cause he will do anything he damn well pleases.

As far as Jesse Jackson..He can KMA also....IMO he is just as racist as Louis Farrakhan..just not as radical by any means

exactly..... chaney's son or nephew or whatever is now saying that there aren't any black businesses in downtown neshoba cty., saying blacks are the last ones hired and first ones fired, and that there are at least 9 other blacks who got the same treatment as Chaney that the state of Ms should open cases up on for "closure" for the families......

we may see more of these in years to come

Yeah, RebelYelp, I'm listening to that Chaney kinfolk thing on TV. For him, it's not about justice, but about race. He wants someone to just GIVE some blacks some businesses!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Give, give, give, I'm black, so you have to give to me."

the thing that gets me, is that people my age and younger for the most part had no clue who Killen was until all this was opened back up, same with the guy from bogue chitto a few years ago, and just about every other case that's opened up. We were told about schwerner, goodman and chaney, and that the KKK did it, and that was all that was mentioned. People had forgotten about it and for the most part moved on, all this has done, and any future cases that come about, is open old wounds back up. People on campus were talking about it the other day, said killen was guilty etc etc, yet they didn't even know the races of the 3 men killed, nor any of the story behind it, much less where neshoba county even is....

And is this not what I have been saying all along. I may be wrong but I think that this is the twenty third such case in the US (mainly the south) and the twenty third conviction. I don't mind the justice part of this, but i still don't think thats what this was all about.
