I would like some GOOD advice from 'knowledgeable' sources on whether a Browning Gold composite stock can be altered to shorten the LOP.
I want to shorten LOP by 1/4" (if possible) and would like to know how this is accomplished........in detail. I took the recoil pad off my wife's gun and don't see how it's possible to modify the stock.....and be able to re-use the same pad.
Please don't respond if you don't have any idea what you're talking about, cause I'm not interested in what folks 'think', or what they've 'heard', but what they 'know' to be 'fact'. If you don't have a Gold or have NEVER taken the recoil pad off of one, there's no point in responding.
If you know someone who has successfully HAD the LOP of a Browning Gold composite stock shortened, I would appreciate the name and phone number of the person that performed the work.

Give Tommy Brownlee a call in New Hope 662-327-8009...I believe he's done several of these, adds an insert into the stock to screw the recoil pad into if I remember correctly. I've never had one done, but if memory serves Brownlee can cut one down. He does good work, but it won't be cheap.

Thanks for the info, guys. Gordon......I've heard of Brownlee, but never had him do anything.......I might call and talk to him about this. I found-out about a fella just West of Strakville who does some stock work.....I'm going to touch base with him, too. Thanks.
GC.....that's not a bad solution.......particularly if she wants to use the original set-up for teal season and switch to the shorter dimension when/if it gets cold-enough to add some heavy clothing......I like that idea.....I had a kick-eez installed on that Gran Lightening and really like it. Thanks.
Dutch.......thanks for the info.
