Now you have gone and done it, Rob. GH22 will be punching holes in Mallard feet all year, trying to scam some warden that the reason he has 16 mallards on him is that 8 of them must have escaped from a preserve........

So many ducks, so little time....

Jeff, in case you missed it, I have a short list of folks that like me too.
But as GC said, I can just see you running around with a hole punch. Probably get inventive and buy one of those three-hole punchers for fast tagging.
Notice I said that the hole has to be punched BEFORE they are 6 weeks old. My guess is that you can easily distinguish a new hole and a old hole(insert wise-crack here). I don't know the full details of the law on this, just from what I've read.
Thanks for the good words, ducksbeus. If you don't mind, "hook up" with me before Christmas. Santa is having a hard time paying the reindeer vet.

Greenhead 22,
Me and about nine of my buddies just leased about 2000 acres
from Mr. Jimmie. We have two cornfields (already flooded) a brake,
a beanfield, three catfish ponds (with rice/flooded) deer hunting,
dove hunting (limited out on numerous hunts) and a very nice lodge.
The season is young, but I will let you know how our season goes.
It sounds like you had a very bad experience with this man. I just
hope we have a good one with him. Please feel free to PM me with
anything I need to look out for.
As for you Bullsprig : You big hairy, knuckle dragging, nose picking,
Hee Haw looking, inbred. Very funny. I guess
your MSU dogs can't win a game so you have
to start something on the forum.
Later,

There is a place in Ark that do the tame bird shoots, I've heard of companies spending $5,000 plus on groups shooting these birds. I think the name is ducks and ducks. I saw a video and you had about fifty big ole fat greenhead come flying around the corner to you. They would start shooting, the mallards would just keep dropping in the hole in front of you. You have a guying counting the birds you kill. $25 a bird!

I wonder if they offer tame fish, dove, and trophy deer hunts!

About 10 years ago, I was invited to go on a "duck hunt" by Southern Railroads at their "retreat" in NC. I got up and put on my camo and boots. I thought it odd that no one at breakfast had on "hunting" clothes. I mean, it was straight out of LLBean and Eddie Bauer! They took us to a pond and put us in a "blind." It was really a dock with a tarp around the rails. They told up where the ducks were going to fly in and when to be ready. All of a sudden, this guy starts some of the most awful highballing calling I've ever heard. By this time, I had gotten really bad vibes and just kinda stood over in the corner. Mallards started flying in by the twos and threes, spaced out about 5 min. apart. It didn't matter whether they were shot at or not, they just flew right in front of the "blind" and lit out of sight around the bend of the pond. The ducks just started piling up in the pond and nobody went to get them. I never fired a shot, because I had never seen anything like it, and just knew it wasn't something I wanted to do. The folks made all sorts of fun of me for not wanting to shoot. Every shot was a left to right at about 20-30 yrds. We started out of that place, no one had picked up a single duck yet...they said someone would get them later. As we were leaving, I noticed a trail up the side of the hill...there were mallard ducks walking up the trail (it was really almost a tunnel covered with chicken wire)! They were trained to fly down to feed on the pond, then walk back up the hill to the pen where they were fed again. Made me sick! Boys, if that is what you like doing, just go on down to the chicken house and kill you a bunch of birds! Same thing! Ain't no sense in trying to make into hunting!
Yeah, but how else do you expect paying customers to walk away happy?
I mean, think how you would feel if you went on a duck hunt in the wild, where the chances were just as good that you'll get skunked as they are that you'll limit out. And of course, mallards are the only "real" ducks....all else are just birds.
Oh, but wait, guides are supposed to get their clients a limit of mallards everytime they go out...right? I mean, that money that you paid him GUARANTEES you'll have the most awesome hunt you've ever had, right?
Hehe,
