20 gauge pump question?
20 gauge pump question?
i have a friend who has a winchester 20 gauge pump w/ 28 in vent rib barrel on it i am thinking of getting. i want another 20 but not really a pump. he wants me to give him 180 for the gun. it is in great shape. i am wondering if anybody has any opinions on winchester pump 20's. i am not a real gun expert just enjoy killin stuff w/ em. i would like another 20 for dove and quail. looking for any input on this gun as well as do you think it is a good price. sounds pretty good to me barring any negative reports on the guns performance. any input would be nice!
why worry when you can panic!
Buy a Remington
--most popular selling pump shotgun of all time. I have an 870 Wingmaster. 20gauge, 3 inch chamber, 28 inch vent. barel with built in mod choke. I use it to hunt ducks (yes believe it or not), pheasant, dove and whatever else. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. With all of the new loads on the market I feel it is just as effective as a 12 gauge. It's lighter, shells are cheaper and your shoulder will be less sore after a day of shooting.
Really didn't answer your question about the Winchester, but if it's anything like the 870, it'll be a great gun.
Just my 2 cents worth.

well, I am 51 years old, been hunting ducks since I was 14 and I have been using the same Winchester 1200 pump I was given for Christmas the year I turned 14 (1966). I have two 12 ga 1200 pumps and my daughter has a 20 ga 1200 pump. They have always hunted through anything, saltwater, sand, mud, dirt and whatever the dog had on his feet when he got in the boat.... My brother has been through three (3) Remington 1100's (two (2) he bought and one (1) he won in a skeet shoot, he beat me by 4 birds!) and two (2) 870's in the same time frame.... and he takes care of his guns. I wash mine off with WATER after every hunt and spray 'em down from "head to toe" with WD-40 and go hunting with 'em next time....they are not pretty, but they shoot each and every time....
just sayin'.........
just sayin'.........

Give em hell willie T. I got a 1976 winchester 1200 and a 1999 model 1300 and I'll put em against any shotgun on the market. I never had a missfire or jam up on either of them. Put em through hell and back again.
Never had anything fixed on either of them.

"You can either shoot on the next pass or watch me do it." Winchester rules hehehehe .......Amen

I'm partial to remington/browning...but Mossberg carries a LIFETIME..yes LIFETIME warranty on thier guns...my bud bought one at as pawn shop...It was an older model, as our luck would have it something broke in it...He sent it to Mossberg to fix...They fixed it, and replaced a couple other peices and mailed it back at NO CHARGE!!!! Remington WON'T do that!! They have a 2 year warranty..THAT'S IT..Not a day later!! Been there and done that!!
I may go to Heaven, or I may go to hell....But one thing is for certain..It'll be after Duck season!!
