Any suggestions?

Postby steel shot » Thu Dec 05, 2002 8:57 pm

Last week my 9 year old son killed his first duck.
Unfortunately it was a mallard hen(go easy on him), anyway I also killed a Big greenhead and Im planning to mount both of them.
I want to put them on the same board and Im wondering what the best looking mount would be?
Has anybody got any suggestions?

the 2 of them standing on a piece of driftwood would probably look pretty good.

You could do a double mount with 'em flying at a 45 degree angle one on top of another. It's a good looking mount. Congratulations to your son on his first duck.

I think having them hang upside down looks great for a pair of birds.

Coming from a taxidermist point of view, I did a pair of woodducks for a co-worker last year using water resin. The drake is standing on driftwood and the hen is swimming beside him. Looks great but a little more expensive.

I think the resin in a marh scene would be the best if it is in your price range. It has got to be expensive and would probably take up alot of room. Having them both cupped up and mounted on the wall of hanging form the ceiling would look good.

Congrats to your son.
