200K won't interest him much. Very rich man. He's been buying up all the land around York so he can own the whole block.

I use to hunt in York Woods before he bought it about 4 or 5 years ago. It was some of the best hunting i've ever seen. Honestly, i don't think i've ever seen anyone hunting the same hole we use to hunt since he bought it. Damn Shame I tell ya, just a shame.

This sounds like the same place that I was told was co-owned by the Cox Communications guy and Ted Turner, about 4000 acres or so? My cousin works for Malouf Construction, he went out there to see who was doing the work, told me it looked like a Corps of Engineers project they had so many people working out there building the levee system. Got to be the same place.

The man is so rich that he had a piece of timber ground that was growing up kinda thick, too thick for ducks to use, so he BOUGHT a skidder, and paid someone to run it for three months thinning the timber up, then never did even hunt it. No offense, but he keeps 200K in the ashtray of his vehicle.

The owner's name is James "Jim" Kennedy. He has been on some Primos videos. Here is a link to Forbes Richest people featuring his mother who is worth a paltry $12.4 Billion. As is noted in the write-up, he runs the family business. Essentially, he is one of the wealthiest men to ever walk the earth. I am surprised he has not transplanted the breeding grounds of ducks from Canada and the Dakotas to Tallahatchie County.

It has been rumored he bought York Woods for around $25 million in a post on this board before.

Doing a little research on this guy. He is on the Board of DU, and heads up the Wetlands Trust, whatever that is. He has also peeved off a bunch of Montanians after he purchased 4000 acres, which includes 10 miles of the Ruby River, and put electric fences across it to keep the locals out, which is illegal. Sounds like a nice guy.

Sounds like he needs a caretaker to look after York Woods for him. I will be glad to volunteer for that job. :)

Does he or anyone else actually hunt this property that he has purchased?

Yes, there are several people that are caretakers, I know one very good, they live a very good lifestyle and don't do anything but keep the place looking good and in good "duck" shape. No mortgages, nice company truck, and possibly the best duck hunting in the state. The guy I know carries Kennedy and his buds out every day to a place he scouted the day before, and makes sure that they have a limit hunt, handles dogs and decoys, and kisses a lot of booty I'm sure. But I can assure you they hunt it quite frequently, they've just got so much that they can spread it out and still keep the numbers of birds that they do. If it weren't for the refuge up the road to draw some of the ducks off of them, I think they would hold all the ducks in that area.

Kennedy uses $200,000 bills as toilet paper.

Good luck!
