Re: Protein Pellets
what kinda results are you guys seeing with the pellet use?
Why is my mouth so dry this morning, when I drank so much last night?
Re: Protein Pellets
It is night and day difference. We have had tremendous results. We used to use the purina pellets with no results then switched to Buck Booster. All I can tell you is I was blown away
at what we have been growing ever since. Before the pellets we would be excited to see a 140" buck. Since the pellets we have killed several over 160 and our goal is to let them get to
3.5 yrs old. Knowing that if he steps off our property he is gonna get shot. Our 3.5yr old avg is in the 140s. Its the same price as a bag of corn around $9.00. so why would you feed corn when you could get BB for the same price AND feed them protien that will grow horns. Just saying.

Re: Protein Pellets
How much do they eat per week? 150 lbs? 200 lbs? Just curious, been thinking about supplemental feeding and fertilizing the natural brouse, but cant break the bank with it.
work hard, play hard
Re: Protein Pellets
another question. do you need to do it if you have ag land around where beans are grown and the deer get a good bit of protein?

Re: Protein Pellets
Ours is Ag land. And yes supplemental feeding can break the bank!! We are going to cut back this year and just feed for the first part of the spring and see what happens. Prob for 3 or 4 months. That is usually 600lbs a week out of 2 feeders at peak time. They will eat as much as you give them, I was blown away. They would not touch the purina stuff. We also get some kind of deer mineral in a bag and pour out 3 bags in a "lick" near the feeder twice a year. You will know if they are using it because it will become a crater in no time. Im not talking about deer cocaine either. Im talking about a true Deer Mineral of some sorts. This is what works for us, depending on your location and neighbors you may have to tweak it a bit. We play around with feeder placement and sometimes 50yds is the difference in them eating out of it or not. We use trough feeders with a roof on it from the co-op and cut the ends out of it. Dont worry about the feed getting wet because when they find it, it does not last long enough to get wet most of the time. I dont know how to post pics or else I would put some up.

Where can you buy it? (buck boosters) I live in Northeast Ms. Want to give it a try.
Re: Protein Pellets
? I used to feed soy beans and the deer didn't like them but I add corn to it and they started eating them and I gradually took the corn out and they tore the beans up. ? Is do they eat them pellets right off the bat or do y'all mix it with other stuff to get them
To eat them
To eat them
