I know I have a hole in my waders around the crotch area. What is the best method to pin point the hole so I can attempt to repair?

Probably gonna be in the seam, just reseal the entire seam and be done with it. Gonna be hard to pinpoint a slow leak.

when you are in the swamp, get one of your buddys to reach inside your waders and feel around for the wet spot...

Flip them inside out and fill em full of water, that should do it.

Or dont do what my wife about killed me doing.
Fill bathtube up with water and set in it. Be sure to get all mud and everything off before, I didnt and thats what got me in trouble.

Flashlight inside the waders in a dark room.

Use a shop vac with the hose in the "blow" hole and pinch the waders tight around the hose.

I always put my waders on with some lightweight light-colored shorts or pants on underneath, step in pool, neighbor's pool, pond, lake, river, etc. wait til you feel cold water start to seep through, get outturn waders inside out and make your best guess at where the hole is. Its always worked for me. inside of waders should be discolored if you can't see a difference then look at pants/shorts to figure where leak is.

Thanks for all the replies. Used a flashlight to find the hole. Hole found and repair is in progress now.

Just to add to this, flashlight method don't always work for me...but an air hose and closing off the waders at the top has, just like finding a leak in a tire, use a little soapy water and you will find all the holes

Not trying to hijack, but I have a pair of older waders with a seam leak in the crotch where the stitching has actuall come unraveled and now there is a hole about as big around as a pencil. Tried to aquaseal but it hasn't worked so far. Any other ideas?

ive got a friend that keeps a bic lighter and a hot glue gun stick in his waders....he says itll fix a hole even if the waders are wet. But ive never actually seen it done. I would like to know the best stuff to fix small leaks in waders tho.
