I need a new pair of neoprene waders and would prefer about 600 grams of insulation in the boots. I ordered a pair of Cabelas brand but they are too tall (I'm 5'9). Any suggestions on another brand that are less than $200?

Itaska or Mack waders (same thing) are great waders

I would look into macks big ditch 3.5mm. They are light and comfy. Plus, if they leak within a year macks will replace them. I am also 5'9 and i have two pair. Both are size 10 and I normally wear an 11.

Are you dead set on neoprene? If not do yourself a favor and get breathables! They are a lot more comfortable and you aint gotta worry about that lil ol limb right under the water that is gonna tear them. You can layer pretty well under them also

I have found in my experiences, that lil limb is more likely to tear my breathables than my neoprenes. I duck hunt about 20 or so days in my neoprenes and don't seem to ever get snags, but I goose hunt in my lightweight breathables for one weekend a year and get holes all in them. They look like they're made of silicone. I have a pair of the Mack's waist-highs for duck hunting and love them. And on a shorter fella (I'm 5-9 as well), they come up over waist high, well up over your belly button. So, depending on how deep the water is you wade, waist-highs are an option as well, and are under 200 bucks.

I've had canvas and neoprene. If I had to pick my favorite, I'd go with canvas just for the ruggedness!

My last pair was Drake neprene at $250 and boy were they nice (until the unexpected tear on the thigh). Talk about pissed!!!

I just bought the same Columbia 100gr waders Pinson is talking about and will try them this weekend. If they hold up to abuse, then they'll work for me. If not, then it's back to canvas.

Im 5'9 and i have Cabelas waders, but i order the stout. Regular are to tall

I have some Mack's waist high waders that I just got this year...I love them so far...they have the warmth without the bulk especially if you hunt public land that is walk-in only

If ya only hunt fields and shallow water id go with the waiste ...they will be the next pair i get

Mack's Big Ditch Stouts are the way to go. I bought a pair this year and for the first time the actually fit. It's nice not have the roles right of the top of my boot. I usually have to wear 10 but with the big ditch's I had to go to an 11 to fit right.

Macks bayou Meto waist waders are the way to go!! No pulling on the shoulders and easy on and off, also great customer service! $185 I'm never going back!

+1 I just bought a pair this year and they're hands down the most comfortable wader I've ever worn.
