They said it comes with 2 plugs: 1 for 2 3/4" and 3", another for 3.5". Now lets say you're hunting ducks with 3.5" shells using the 3.5" plug. Mr. Green Jeans comes walking up and asks to see your gun. He brings three 2 3/4" shells out of his pocket and shoves all three into your magazine. You just got a ticket.

Yeah that is true, but as long as you aint got no 2 3/4 with you, you oughta be good..
Wingman's input is needed here

But the long one is for 2 3/4 only.. the short one is for 3 and 3 1/2

Sure, that would be a good reason to let you off with a warning if he chooses to be leniant. But if he chose to give you a ticket I would think it would hold up just fine in court. Every gun I have ever owned that had a 3.5" receiver had 1 plug to stop more than two of any combination of shells from being loaded in the magazine. That's a bad design decision, and one that is likely to get several hunters into a pickle.

Every game warden that has ever check the plug in my gun has used his own shells (I've been checked twice by different wardens).

Sorry for the hijack. I held a Maxus for the first time this past weekend. My friend was shooting one, and I asked to see it. He took my SX2 while handing off his Maxus to me. I got a real feel for the weight difference: it's HUGE. Fit me just as good as my SX2 and worked flawlessly for him. Great looking gun. Would love to have one in Bottomland. Stay away from Duratouch finishes though. They WILL PEEL.

He will check mine with whatever ammo I have on me and nothing more! The old Benelli used to be like this. Plug in it would hold 2, 23/4" or 3" shells. Plug out it would hold 2, 3.5" shells. He can do what he wants but for it to hold up in court he is gonna have to check it with the ammo that is in my possesion at the time of the check!
