Ole Miss Job

Postby puddin » Sun Dec 04, 2011 8:36 am

From what I have seen, Hugh Freeze is the man. Fedora has rejected an offer and is supposed to get one more before they turn full attention to Freeze.

Press Conference tomorrow.....Freeze is 4th coach we will have as Head Coach from the Movie ...Blind Side..............

Freeze is best we can do supposely.............he was coaching High School football 7 years ago so this is his Big Break. i wish him the best. Intersting to see if alums embrace this? For the record....i think i could have hired Hugh Freeze................no disrespect Archie and Fed Ex by all means

do i renew my tickets and contributuion to watch 2-10 or 3-9 football again? Are we 3 years out from another hire?

Hey Hugh.....................0 tolerance for failed drug tests would be a nice start.

So if 'The Blind Side' movie facts are true, and Ole Piss does hire Freeze...can we then say that Ole Pisses coach learned how to coach a star athlete from a woman???? Maybe Mrs Tuohy should be an assistant!!!

NO PLEASE DONT DO IT archie and Mike you are killing the fan base. I feel like the movie ground hog day, its the same thing (bad coaching hires) happening over and over again. Sean Tuohy will be our next AD watch and see. If Freeze can be chosen to coach this team then Tuohy can be chosen to run the show, apparently nothing is beyond the realm of possibilities in this bad dream that is Ole Miss athletics.

Everyone is upset about this hire as they are calling him a high school coach.

Freeze has been out of the high school ranks longer than Gus malzahn has and has been a Division 1 coach leading his team to a 10-2 record. Yet people still believe Malzahn is more qualified and would be a better coach.

One thing I do know is Archie Manning knows a he** out a lot more about college football than any of us in here and I will fully support the hire.

It's kind of like the ugly girl (ole Miss) in high school that no one wanted to take to the prom. Eventually some real desperate guy (Freeze) who needs a date to the big dance will step up and maybe commit social (career) suicide by asking said ugly girl to the prom.

IMO I just don't think anyone else wanted the job. Yes Archie does know more about college football/football than most of us combined on here but if the OM job had any real attraction to to then we would have someone better than Freeze. I guess we have no choice but to support the new coach but it is still a bitter pill to swallow.

Hugh Freeze is no different (from a experience and not so long removed high school coach) than Gus Malzahn and people would be all on Ole Miss jock for hiring Malzahn b/c he's a media name and recognizable and popular b/c of the media. Most of the mouthing about Freeze if just b/c people wanted Ole Miss to make a name hire and a big splash to make up for the two years of nothing to be excited about...realistically, Hugh Freeze was gonna be a head coach at the BCS level one day, he's been wildly successful everywhere he has been and has more personal desire to coach at Ole Miss than anybody else willing to interview, Ole Miss just gave him an early offer.

It's a risky move, but so is hiring anybody to come to the cluster F that is Ole Miss football...

You might be right, by default, about the job not being attractive or about it potentially being detrimental to a coach's career...but all that about Freeze being desperate and needing a date is so far from reality. He's got Arkansas St with a 10 win season in his first year as a D1 coach and his name at least on mention of numerous other D1 jobs...his day was coming, Ole Miss just gave it to him early. They guy is a winner and been on the radar outside of Ole Miss...I wish he had more D1 experience, but he'd have gotten a job sooner or later...so if he has success and makes it, then Ole Miss will look great and he will be loyal...if we passed on a obvious up and comer that WANTED to be at Ole Miss to watch him succeed elsewhere, people would bitch about that too...
