I know not everyone agrees with this, but hell the older generation doesn't like anything new. Every time we change up the uniforms all you hear is complaining, but its marketing genius. The new athletic administration finally gets it, they think outside of the box, and they know they are catering to 16, 17, and 18 year old recruits who eat this stuff up. This hash tag(#) idea is marketing genius too, MSU is going to get tons of free publicity from this. Sports blogs, message boards, and twitter all across the country have been blowing up giving praise to this idea. I'd be willing to bet that it gets some national TV attention on Saturday too. Some may think it look stupid, but don't be surprised when you see this start happening at sporting events all over in the near future.

+1. I think it looks dumb. Others will follow.

I have no problem with it, we are finally getting out of our rut of not being proactive in marketing and I think this is a great marketing idea, it's getting a lot of free publicity. So, I like it.

I think Mark Cuban does too.

I still say the best marketing is to win football games. Gimmicks only provide a momentary burst of attention. Once everyone else starts doing it (which will happen quickly, don't wanna be left behind) nobody will see it as significant. I'm 30 years old. I hate Twitter. I guess I'm not enough of an attention whore for it.

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm not exactly tech savy and most would say probably a little socially challenged, but what the eff is a "hashtag"!

I love it. How can you not like something that has created so much buzz, that doesn't involve something negative? Good job by the marketing department, if you ask me.

it's FREE publicity, which is always a good thing. College football is big business, I'm just glad that we have an athletic dept. that realizes the significance of social networking
