Postby Doc & Nash » Tue Nov 27, 2001 7:16 pm

I Spent the weekend repairing the damage from the storm and unfortually did not see many ducks. Hopefully this cold spell will push them down for a great opener, Finlly got the floating blind finish, damn that is alot of work.

cook, don't worry about a boat in the Coldwater bottoms. Just jump out and stand in that famous mud... I almost lost my son in it a couple of years ago. he went up to his crotch, and we had a time pulling him out.

Yeah, that coldwater mud can be a booger. I can tell you that the coldwater river well to the east of the actual town of coldwater is completely and totally out of its banks. It's now flowing water for probably 1/4 mile where as the river is usually only probably 25 to 30 yds wide at that place. I haven't checked it out over in this area yet, but I bet its a carbon copy. I can also tell you this from years of experience that with this much water flowing through the river that the birds are going to be very scattered and there will be strong current flowing through most places people hunt. so be careful if that is where you intend to hunt.
