First Deer of the year *with video

Postby duramax » Mon Sep 26, 2011 8:51 am

Shot this doe yesterday morning about an hour east of Memphis in Tennessee. Didn't see a thing all morning and was ready to pack it up at 9:30 and she came in with 3 others, a bigger doe and a couple fawns. Stuck her at about 20 yards. She didn't make it more than 5 seconds before packing it in. She might have run 50 yards. This is the 3rd doe I've shot that had the dark dots on her head that almost make her look like a button buck. I'd be interested why it looks like that.

Nice vid!!! I have seen the same thing you're talking about before. I've seen those dots on several deer, I think it's just a natural thing.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Nice. How do you go 1 hour west of Memphis and still remain in Tennessee?

Ha. I meant to change it from 30 minutes west of Jackson, TN to 1 hour east of Memphis and forgot to change the east/west.

It's a Pine Ridge Climber mount:

It clamps to the front of my climber. There's probably much better ones made, but it was one of the first ones to come out when I bought it 8 years ago.
